TITLE:
Microsoft .NET Framework Denial of Service Vulnerability

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA36127

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/36127/

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft .NET Framework, which
can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the way ASP .NET
manages request scheduling when used in combination with IIS
(Internet Information Services) 7.0. This can be exploited via a
specially crafted HTTP request to cause an affected web server to
stop responding until restarted.

Successful exploitation requires that IIS 7.0 is installed and
ASP.NET is configured to use integrated mode. Systems running ASP.NET
on IIS 7.0 in classic mode are not affected.

NOTE: According to Microsoft, the vulnerability is already being
exploited on a limited scale.

SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
