DESCRIPTION:
A weakness and a vulnerability have been reported in DotnetNuke,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct spoofing and
cross-site scripting attacks.
1) The weakness is caused due to an unspecified error related to the
rich text editor and can be exploited to redirect users.
NOTE: This weakness does not affect all browsers and might be an
issue related to the W3C specification implementation.
2) Certain unspecified input related to "culture" selection is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires more than one
language installed and that "core language skin object" is used.
The weakness and the vulnerability are reported in versions prior to
6.2.7 and 7.0.5.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 6.2.7 or 7.0.5.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
1) The vendor credits Tom Wurdock.
2) Reported by the vendor.
