DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Xen, which can be exploited by
malicious, local users in a guest virtual machine to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to the application not clearing the
NT flag when handling the SYSENTER instruction, which can be
exploited to cause a general protection fault on an IRET and crash
the host.
Successful exploitation requires that a 64-bit ParaVirtual OPerationS
(PVOPS) guest is used.
The vulnerability is reported in versions 3.1 and later running on
Intel platforms.
SOLUTION:
Apply patch if available.
