Don't you think that 6.2 auto-rooters are more abundant than 7.2 rooters? My point was that with a 7.2 default install, one might have more of a chance to play around before getting hacked than with a 6.2 box.
I agree not going nuts with complicated honeynet/honeypot setups (genII HP's and such), but at least give yourself a fighting chance and start w/ a higher version of redhat :-) (I may be totally off base here; still fairly new to the HP world)
