    Ethereal does require drivers, actually. Ethereal requires libpcap, or
    in the case of Windows, WinPcap. It requires these libs on all Windows
    boxes, at least as far back as NT 4, but for sure on NT/2000/XP. I've
    never used Ethereal on a Windows 9x box, because, well, if a situation
    ever arose where I needed to sniff from a Windows 9x box, and didn't
    have access to a NT-based box to sniff from, I would just go home. :)
