Then who is second????
I don't know how the NetRanger stacks up on the list but it has been a
great tool for my security infrastructure. The only blaringly apparent
drawback is the requirement of HP OpenView to run it. Lots of moolah....
I can't complain about the product or support for it though... Ends up being
a pretty slick netmgmt/security/application setup in the end though...
Makes for a great justification for one very nice Sun desktop!!!!

Thanks (especially JCL), and now another question (I should have asked it
the first time): What are the major top-3 players in the commercial IDS
arena?
I did some research myself and wonder if anyone could correct it (no. 1
being the best: making the most sales):
1) Internet Security Systems with ISS RealSecure
3) NFR Security with Network Flight Recorder IDS + LRD
Can you also comment on it; which is technically most sophisticated? Any
experience on it? Actually, I'm looking for info similar to
http://www.gocsi.com/roundtable.htm but only more recent.
TIA
Bart
