If you're buying any Cisco IDS product, you're going to need a
logging console (either CSPM or Director) to get the functionality
you're looking for.
I know that Cisco IDS Director is configurable to send e-mails or
SNMP traps, and CSPM can send SNMP traps as well. It is likely it
will send e-mail too...
CiscoWorks, unless it includes a version of Cisco VSM/CSPM that can
talk to Cisco IDS devices (IDS-4230, IDS-4210 or IDSM), is not the
way to manage your IDS sensors...
You should check out the official Cisco IDS product web pages at
http://www.cisco.com/go/ids to see more for yourself.

Subject: Cisco IDS-4210 reporting!
Hello, i'm about to buy a Cisco IDS-4210 but there is a BIG problem. I
need the IDS to monitor and send mail if some special event happens. I
means, i need advanced reporting and monitoring features. Does
CicsoWorks do that??
