We are running a couple Linux machines, Slackware 4.. I was recently trying out nmap and discovered several "unknown" ports were open on a couple of our servers..The numbers range from 687 - 707 and I have no idea why they are opened.
Does anyone know why?
Also a related question, nmap can run as with sT or with sS option. When I run sS against one of our servers, inetd is stopped, and I get all kinds of error messages in the syslog..
Any help is appreciated..
