Subject: Re: Nessus Causing Problems?

I ran into the same problem with an old web server that I had. When i ran
Nessus against it, the server decided to crash. I went back and read some
documentation on Nessus and Nessus actually exploits the holes that it finds
on your servers. So if it found a problem in sendmail it might have crashed
it for some reason or caused it hang. Of course it could have been trying
to use an older exploit against sendmail that no longer works but causes
sendmail to hang.

working as well as the fact that I was not recieving any inbound mail. I
looked at the nessus report and it didn't say it found anything that would
cause this. Am I going to experiance this problem everytime I run Nessus or
is this just something I did wrong while running Nessus.
