Was the process name called '3'? Or was the process ID number 3? Is this
Linux? If you're running Linux and your kernel has the option to make CPU
calls when idle (CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE), a process will show taking up all
remaining CPU.
If this is not the case, do the following (pending you have the software):
lsof -p [pid]
-reid
