    There is an RSA plugin for GnuPG, it works great. I use it to exchange
    messages with OpenPGP users with no trouble.

    ..because all it has to do is dig the information it can use as a public
    key out of the certificate, if I read the first paragraph (snipped for
    brevity) properly.
