Security Focus.com is pleased to announce the new Security Focus
a Pager 3.0 beta release candidate.
The pager which is open source has a facility to to track Bugtraq
real time via a direct link to the SecurityFocus.com database. Furthermore
you can set up a network inventory with the pager so that you are alerted
in the event of certain package/vendor related vulnerabilities. This type
of service is offered by a number of companies right now at an exhorbinant
fee. This is well... free.
The pager employs client-side filtering, ensuring the details you
provide it about your network setup remain confidential - nothing is
transmitted to the Security Focus database server. The source code for
the pager is also publicly available, allowing the community to review
exactly what the pager does and does not do.
Both a Linux and Windows 9x/NT/2000 version are available.
