Renaming the Domain is possible and fairly painless
but can be time consuming.

To Rename your domain:
Go on to your PDC.
Network Properties->Identification.
Change the Domain name.
That's it.

BUT...(Here comes the time consuming part)
You will have to remove all machines
from the old domain and add them to the new one.
Any trust relationships will have to be re-established
and you'll have to move your exchange server from
the old domain to the new one.

Are there any plans in your company to move to a Win2000
network?
If so, try to convince management to "put off" the
renaming of the domain until then.
Just set up the new Win2K DC(s) with the new name.
IMHO it's better to kill two birds with one stone.
