Hello! A couple good resources that you may want to investigate are FOIA
requests from the FBI Computer Analysis and Response Team (CART) and the
DoD Computer Forensics Lab. There are many approaches to the forensic
problem as a whole - As an example, some companies rely upon tools built
for the "user level" of forensics, such as Encase. While it does what it
is designed to do, the principle behind such an application (seperating
the user from the actual technical details) is incredibly dangerous from
the standpoint of a _real_ forensics lab. Which is why you'll never find
these products in use (except in R/D or test cases) in a lab situation.
