If you want to use two machines to create a VPN tunnel, I would certainly
use Windows2000. You can use RRAS to act like a tunnel with higher
encryption (L2TP -56bit?) then NT 4 with PPTP (40bit), it might not be the
best solution. It is cheaper to buy two Netscreens or Watchguard boxes if
you are trying to connect two small offices. A Netscreen 5 box runs about
$500. VPN's a re generally safe. Make sure that if you use Win2000 that
you limit access to the machine (you can select protocols, ports etc).
