Ah well ... there's the rub eh? I ran into a similar problem, a couple of years
ago, going from an NT box to an NT box and it turned out to be what is known as a
"GINA chaining" issue. My problem went away because the box went away, so I never
had a final resolution to the problem. Of course this may have nothing to do with
the Win98 issue but check this page at symantec:
