Subject: Microsoft Exchange SMTP server and DMZ area.

In designing a secure architecture for a mail server,
what are the pros and cons of setting up the Exchange
Mail server in a DMZ area vs. putting the Mail
Exchange server on the inside of the network.

The requirements for this server
1)Remote Internet users need to get to the Mail
Server.
2)Internal Corp. users need to get to the Mail Server.
3)Provide Mail services for inbound and outbound mail.
4)Authenticate to the Windows 2000 corporate
   Active Directory Server (PDC).
5)Require port 25 for SMTP
6)Require port 80 for HTTP Web mail traffic
7)Require probably LDAP to Active Directory ports.
8)Not sure of other ports which may be required, but
will ultimately need to know.

I am basically looking for recommendations and
insight.
