I have a Windows 2000 Server running Exchange 2000 and serving e-mail both locally, and by web interface. I am experimenting with bringing up a proxy(squid) for user tracking purposes, but the proxy is somehow blocking the web based authentication of users for Exchange. Anybody know what ports Exchange uses for authentication? External users only have ports 80 and 135 only because of firewalling, and get in with no problems. Specifically, the domain field of the user/pass/domain block does not come through. I tried passing 135 (as well as 137 and 139 through the proxy along with https) with no luck. Unfortunately my boss won't bow to the fact that he doesn't need web-based e-mail to check non-user administrative e-mail boxes.
