    Actually there is. Place a listing in the windows hosts file,
    located in the windows directory - IE checks this before
    anything else, it's plain text and listed as hosts there will
    be no extension

    The format is very simple and looks just like this
    127.0.0.1 ads.doubleclick.net

    I have a very usefull version, which can be cut and pasted from
    to enhance anyone's host file who wants it.

    annoying advertising companies like "ad.doubleclick.net" and so
    on.

    This is good, but is there a way to stop the "Sorry! Content
    Advisor will not allow you to see this site" window from
    appearing ?
