    1: Subscribing/Unsubscribing
    ----------------------------
Just a reminder, that instructions on unsubscribing and modifying
subscription options are available in the Focus-MS faq, which is located
    at:
    http://www.securityfocus.com/forums/focus-ms/faq.html

The least proper way to unsubscribe is to pester other listmembers for
help. I would like to apologize to everyone who received an inappropriate
email (or possibly several) from one particularly underinformed reader,
who shall remain nameless here due to my inexplicable patience given the
    circumstances.

It is clearly not the responsibility of the list membership to babysit
other members through the subscription or unsubscription process. I am
always available for assistance with subscriptions to this list via the
address modmssecurityfocus.com. Also, we have a dedicated list
administrator on staff at the address listadminsecurityfocus.com. Should
the process detailed in the faq not work for you for any reason, please
contact one of the above addresses and we will be glad to help you.

    2: RTFKB
    --------
That's for "Read the Free Knowlege Base" :) I don't have time to search
the MS KB for the answer to every question to determine if it should be
approved or not, but it shouldn't take that long for the person posting it
    to check beforehand.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet is where you should look for
configuration tips *before* you ask here. One of the most disappointing
things about moderating this list is when I approve a question, and then
have to filter out 20 to 80 emails consisting of only the URL to the KB
    article that answers it perfectly.

    2: OS/Vendor Zealotry
    ---------------------
This list has overall been quite good at refraining from OS bashing - it
probably helps that we all use the same vendor's product... I don't know
if it's spring fever or what, but that restraint is starting to slip. I am
going to get tougher on moderating that kind of post out, so please keep
that in mind when composing your submission.

    3: Reader Feedback
    ------------------
I also wanted to remind you that if you have comments or constructive
criticism to feel free to email me. This list is for you, and if it can be
more useful somehow let me know. I may not be able to implement every
suggestion, but I'm always willing to listen to them.

    Thank you,
    Ben Greenbaum
