A google search will reveal many pages about Network Installation
Management, although most of them appear to deal with *nix environs.
Here's a snippet of what I found.
Network Installation Management (NIM)
from
http://lpo.fri.uni-lj.si/doc_link/en_US/a_doc_lib/aixhelp/smithelp/smit_nim.
htm :
"Alternate Port Numbers for Network Communications
Specifies that port numbers other than the defaults should be used for
communication between NIM master and client machines. If no port numbers are
specified,
the NIM port numbers (nim and nimreg) in the /etc/services file are used. If
the nim and nimreg definitions do not exist in the /etc/services file, the
following
default values are used:
1059 Client Registration
1058 Client Communications. "
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Walt
