    Seamus,

You can ask NT4 to save printed documents under the Printer Properties on the
server. On the Properties dialog box under the Scheduling tab there is an
option at the bottom 'Keep Documents After They Are Printed'. I'm not sure how
long they are kept or how much drive space they will use before clogging up your
drive. Perhaps someone else here knows? I would make sure that I was using a
separate partition for print spooling though instead of the System partition
which is the default. Otherwise if the drive fills up your server will 'stop'.

Subject: Windows NT 4.0 Print Spooler Security

    Security Level:? Internal

    Hi,

Recently, I was asked by management if there was a way to reprint print jobs
that are spooled on Windows NT servers. Because the management team prints a
significant amount of documentation that is considered to be top secret (and
we recently lost an administrator for selling stuff to another company) they
are understandably paranoid about this particular issue. The domain
structure as it stands right now does not allow the printers to be printed
to by any machine but the Windows NT 4.0 SP6a print spooler.

    Here are the stipulations;

I need to recreate a specific print job.

I have Domain Administrator access to the server where the spooler resides.

I know the date, time, and log information about this print job.

Is there any way I can reprint this job? Without access to anything but the
    Spooler Server?

    Thanks in advance!
