Regarding the Security Profiling Company that makes SysUpdate

Over a month ago, I watched a thread about hfnetchk vs. hfnetchkpro. I
received an email from the owner of the SysUpdate product. He notified me
about SysUpdate and that I should try the product out. I called and spoke
with a sales rep over three weeks ago (because securityprofiling did not
have a downloadable demo at the time). The sales rep told me that they were
about to have the link ready but they would need another day or two. The
sales rep agreed to send me the demo cd that day (over three weeks ago) and
send me an email link (when available) to download the product. This would
let me try the product as soon as possible since I was ready to purchase
something. Well, it's been over three weeks and I have received nothing (no
email with a link nor a cd with the demo). At the beginning of this week, I
received an email from the Sales Rep and he stated that his techs wanted to
add on a few additional features and that the cd which included the demo
would be shipped that day (2nd day air). Well, I still have not received
that cd and I have just purchased hfnetchkpro (so far I am very pleased).

I also evaluated UpdateExpert from St.Bernard but I experienced a few flaws
(I was told a few times that they needed to update their database regarding
patches). One time I called Tech support to talk to them about differences
I was experiencing from Hfnetchk and Update Expert and they told me that
"Hfnetchk is wrong 99% of the time" (this was even before I mentioned a
specific patch or Q#). I then inquired about why UpdateExpert was telling
me that SQL 2000 sp2 was not installable on a specific machine. The tech
support man took my information, called me a week later (only because the
sales rep. woman, who I originally talked with, contacted me as a follow up
and I explained to her the experience that I had and that the problem was
still unresolved. She then said she could see the open tech support ticket
(regarding the SQL 2000 sp2)and she would call tech. support for a follow
up). The tech support man stated that they still have not resolved the
issue and that I should be hearing something back from them in a day or two
(that was over a week ago).

    Just my Experiences,

    Jason

There are several products out there that asist in the
rollout of patches. However, there is an up and coming
product called SysUpdate that deploys patches
automatically based on policy. You can read about it
    at www.securityprofiling.com

    Subject: Rolling out patches

Following on the coat-tails of the MBSA posts, I
wanted to pose another question to the readership at
    large...

What is your favorite tool(s)/technique(s) for rolling
out patches/hotfixes in a mixed (NT and 2K)
environment? How do the tools like the MBSA and
Shavlik's HFNetChkPro perform following the updates?
