M B S A - Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. It displays shares, share
permissions, and NTFS permissions on the folder in an XML table that
imports into Excel moderately well. This is a much maligned FREE tool from
MS that works pretty well overall, but is great for what you are looking
for.

The current thread on best practices for shares and files reminds me of a
gap in comprehensive reporting I've never filled since expanding from the
Novell world.
I'd like the ability to pop out a report for a machine that summarizes all
directories and details file and directory rights specifically assigned.
I'd like to do the same for shares. I'd like to be able to do the same for
domain controllers. I'd like to pop out a summary of any and all rights
given to a User or Group. I'd like to be able to report on anything I want
to (how about that).
Any recommendations and reviews on freeware options would be appreciated
(preferred so I don't have to worry about use at client sites), but any
commercial products with good reporting capabilities would be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you
Mada
