Thank you so much for the answers;
Shawn M. Thomas:
"Your previous message also mentions XP SP1 and ZoneAlarm and the closing of
services - none of which are valid substitutes for applying patches for the
OS. Were all critical updates from Microsoft installed?"
> Yes, all the critical and secondary, and driver updates for Windows XP is
installed from offline windows update KB files and checked. I closed and got
the same problem even I uninstall Zonealarm.
Van Wyk Douw:
"I agree, I can only imagine that your tweaking skills were to creative??
You must give more info on what you did and what you expected to achieve
with that."
>I wrote down all the settings, with the ones unwritten in the first mail.
But except this problem, they work. At least no other problem occured.
James Riden:
"I think it was MS03-049 that touched the workstation service, but I
can't remember exactly what it did."
> I've read out the article but no answer there.
Harlan Carwey: (and Dave Kleiman)
"Have you checked under the Services key in the
Registry to see if it's still there?"
>No, it wasn't there. In the registry, it's code name is LanManSvr, but it
is not
existing
Thanks again for the answers, but i did found the answer, thanks to Shawn M.
Thomas.
The site http://www.tek-tips.com/gviewthread.cfm/pid/779/qid/844187 has the
solution, the workstation server is with "client for microsoft networks", in
"Network Connections". When I installed it, immediately Workstation Service
is occured and started automatically.
The Settings i do;
All The Windows Updates,
All the latest drivers,
Closing some services,
Zone Alarm and Possible NAT, IP, TCP vs settings,
Uninstalling everything except TCP/IP from "local area connection"
Setting group policies (only local settings, there's any networking setting)
Checking System With Clean and lates Spyware, Norton AV2003 and adaware,
Then plug the LAN cable and connect to the PPPoE system.
I apologize, but I have again a question. The reason that i ask why
workstation service disappears is; I want to see The "Connected Network"
icon in the notification area (or system tray) when connected to any
network. I was thinking that it has something to do with the "Workstation
Service", so I'm two times wrong. If you can help me, i will be very
pleased.
Have a nice day, and thanks.
