Sorry, really couldn't tell you. I was just drawing a parallel between
Solaris package tools and other UNIX package tools. I'm not really familiar
with running RPM under that environment. I use Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris
in my environment and run the native package tools for each.

You are working with rpm under Solaris? I have had major problems getting
rpm to work under Solaris 8. There are parts in the main routines as in
the db interface that seem to be unstable. Some packages create a corrupt
database and the bsearch() routine ends in an infinite loop. Is this
a Solaris 8 problem or my problem? .... Or?
