If you haven't tried the latest version of WebGoat, the installation is much
easier -- just unzip and run. There are also new lessons and more features.
You can download it from the OWASP download page at SourceForge.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=64424
If you'd like to read about the plans for WebGoat, check out Bruce Mayhew's
presentation from the AppSec 2004 conference. It's also available on the
download page.

This my notes when I install the WebGoat3:
use javaw to launch install*.jar to start installation process (need
Internet connection)
Or download Apache Tomcat 4.1.29 and install first.
To start WebGoat:
1. Start the Tomcat WebServer.
-- <tomcat_root>\bin\startup.bat
-- [Start -> Apache 4.x -> start tomcat] entry in your
start menu.
2. Browse to http://localhost:8080/WebGoat/attack
Hope the will help.

Subject: problems with webgoat 3.0b installation
Hi All,
I am getting errors while installing webgoat 3.0b.I
would greatly appreciate
if someone could throw some light as to where I might
be going wrong.
1. I installed the webgoat 3.0b.zip.
I am able to activate the tomcat server using the
webgoat.bat file &
startup.bat in tomcat/bin. the following problems
arise
1 the tomcat opens on port 80 instead of 8080
2 when I try to open the link
http://localhost/webgoat/attack
I get an error of http status 404- webgoat/attack
Description- The requested resource
(/webgoat/attack) is not available.
I would greatly appreciate any kind of suggestions.
Regards,
Gautam
