Try logging directly into your MySQL database using the same credentials
located in your output database line.

Make SURE you have setup your user access properly in MySQL.

Is this on a stand alone sensor on in an enterprise setup?

I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem to no avail. Can
someone help me on this? I get this message when I try to run snort.

FATAL ERROR: database: mysql_error: Access denied for user:
'snortids.remote.starsatx.com' (Using password: YES)

and

FATAL ERROR: database: mysql_error: Access denied for user:
'snortlocalhost' (Using password: YES)

 My conf is as follows:
