Nowadays it seems to me that the difference between software and hardware
is who has to configure it.
Software is what you do yourself :). Hardware is what you get someone else
to do.
For many people, almost everything is hardware.
For a CPU engineer, modern microprocessors are software, programmable with
microcode, even more so with Transmeta processors.
I'm sure for many of our bosses, most of the stuff we're talking about here
is hardware to them- "I want that hardware up by Monday".
