I have to disagree with Kevin's recommendation. Being somewhat paranoid
(see job title below) I keep all active scripting disabled on all three
of my browsers. *Very* ocassionally I will find that this disables some
capabilities. If this is the case and *if* I am sure I can trust the
site I'm at, I will temporarily enable whatever is necessary and then
immediately disable it again.

It works for me. Of course, I don't do any Internet commerce. (Not
worried about credit card numbers in transit, but am worried about safe
storage of them at vendors.)
